NBA games are the most popular in America, with over 450 million people logging into NBA League Pass each year. The popularity of these teams has resulted in a number of legendary matchups and one-of-a kind events such as Jordans vs. Air Jordan’s. Teams like the Nets, Clippers, Knicks/Clippers rivalry and even team names have become synonymous with basketball culture

The NBA has seen many changes over the years, with five “legendary” teams that were once dominant but now are nothing more than cellar dwellers. The good thing about this is that these franchises only cost $10 million to buy in today’s market which means it would be easy for any team to become a great franchise again if they had the right management and players. The “nba superteams 2021” is a question that asks what the 5 legendary teams in NBA history would be if they were to play each other. The Nets, Clippers, Knicks, Hawks, and Kings are the five teams mentioned.

Who are some of the first names that spring to mind when you think about defense? Dikembe Mutombo, Chris Paul, and Willis Reed come to mind. Some of the league’s most illustrious clubs had some of the league’s best defensive players. When you consider the offenses that both teams possessed, you have a real legendary superteam that no one could defeat.

Some clubs, such as the Knicks and Kings, have struggled to find fresh talent, while the Nets are a dangerous squad thanks to the short-term tenures of James Harden and Kevin Durant. Take a look at the last set of superteams that would be impossible to beat if all of the franchise’s skill came together.

Hawks of Atlanta

Dominique Wilkins (PG), Trae Young (PG), Lou Hudson (SF) (PF)

Dikembe Mutombo (C), Bob Pettit (C)

Trae Young is in his fourth season in the league, but he is on the verge of guiding the franchise to its first Conference Finals victory since Bob Pettit’s era. Young has a 24.2 point, 3.9 rebound, and 8.9 assist average in his career. He is just 23 years old and might be the finest guard to ever play for the Atlanta Hawks.

At the time of his retirement, Lou Hudson was the 12th all-time leading scorer in NBA history. In his career, he averaged 20.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.4 steals per game. Hudson acquired the moniker “Sweet Lou” because of his excellent jump shot. With the quality around both Young and Hudson, none of them would likely be the major scorers.

Dominique Wilkins and Pettit share the honor. Wilkins is the team’s all-time highest scorer, with Pettit coming in second. While playing with the Hawks, both players amassed over 20,000 points in their careers. With nearly 12,000 rebounds, Pettit is the all-time rebounding leader. Opposing teams would have to purchase a rebound with Pettit and Mutombo, a four-time Defensive Player of the Year.

The Brooklyn Nets are a professional basketball team based in

Kevin Durant, Jason Kidd (PG), James Harden (SG) (SF)

Buck Williams (PF), Julius Erving (PF)

Buck Despite the fact that Brook Lopez is the franchise’s all-time leading scorer, Williams fires him. Williams is also the all-time rebounding leader in the NBA. We created space for some dynamic scoring to aid with the offensive burden instead of having two players that are similar to centers.

James Harden and Kevin Durant are the first that come to mind. Harden was acquired through trade last season, but he is one of the finest all-around players the franchise has ever had on the court. Durant is in the same boat, having joined the club in the 2019 summer and is just in his second full season due to injuries. Durant and Harden are both MVP candidates this season, with Durant vying for the honor, while Harden is a triple-double danger on most nights.

Jason Kidd and Julius Erving are the only remaining veterans. Kidd has the second-most assists in NBA history and holds the team record. Kidd was a part of the last Nets team to qualify for the NBA Finals, in 2003. Erving was a part of the Nets’ last championship squad in 1976, while they were still in the ABA.

Los Angeles Clippers are a professional basketball team based in Los Angeles

Kawhi Leonard (PG), Chris Paul (PG), and Paul George (SF) (SF)

Bob McAdoo (PF), Blake Griffin (C)

Chris Paul is regarded as one of the finest point guards of all time. Paul not only leads the Clippers in assists and steals, but also the New Orleans Pelicans. While Magic Johnson is associated with the Lakers, Paul should also be acknowledged in Los Angeles basketball legacy, albeit from the opposing perspective.

Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, and Blake Griffin are all guys who might thrive in Lob City 2.0. Since joining the Clippers in the 2019 offseason, George and Leonard have had brief stints with the organization, but they are clearly two of the finest players to ever wear a Clippers jersey. This season, George is a marginal MVP contender, while Leonard is a two-time Finals MVP. The two would have led the Clippers to their first participation in the NBA Finals if Leonard hadn’t been injured last year.

When Griffin was with the Clippers, he reached the zenith of his career. During Paul’s Lob City years, he was his biggest complement. Each night, Griffin, a former Slam Dunk Contest winner, demonstrated his gymnastics. There is a reason behind DeAndre Jordan’s omission. Jordan may be the all-time leader in rebounds and blocks, but while the Clippers were situated in Buffalo, McAdoo was a multi-time All-Star. McAdoo also led the league in scoring for three straight seasons, and when he retired, he was the all-time leader.

Knicks of New York

Earl Monroe (SG), Walt Frazier (PG), and Bernard King (SG) (SF)

Patrick Ewing (C), Willis Reed (C)

Outside of Carmelo Anthony, the Knicks have failed to uncover talent in the previous 20 years, but not even Melo would make this superteam. Let’s start at point guard with Walt Frazier, who is the franchise’s all-time assist leader. While with the Knicks, Frazier was a seven-time All-Star who helped the team win two titles. Frazier and Reed are the only survivors from the 1973 Knicks championship team.

Frazier and Reed are the team’s No. 2 and No. 3 scorers, respectively. Reed, on the other hand, was more of a defensive force, which helped him earn Finals MVP in 1970 and 1973. Reed also has the second-most rebounds in his career. Because the combination worked in the 1970s, we believe the chemistry would work again. Only Patrick Ewing, the leader in points, rebounds, and blocks, and the star of the last Knicks team to reach the NBA Finals in 1999, is rated higher than both of these players.

While with the Knicks, Anthony earned one scoring championship. Bernard King, who had greater overall success with the club in the 1980s, is another former Knick who won a scoring championship. At Reunion Arena in Dallas, King once established a single-game scoring record of 50 points, becoming the first player since Rick Barry to do it in consecutive games. On Christmas Day the following season, King scored 60 points. In terms of the last element, Earl Monroe was a scoring machine for the Knicks in the 1970s, appearing in three All-Star games.

Sacramento Kings are a professional basketball team based in

Mitch Richmond (PG), Oscar Robertson (PG), Nate Archibald (PG) (SG)

DeMarcus Cousins (PF), Chris Webber (C)

You can’t speak about the Kings without mentioning the player who led the club in triple-doubles. Only one player has ever averaged a triple-double in a season before Russell Westbrook. When Robertson won the MVP in 1964, the Kings were still known as the Cincinnati Royals, he was on his own. Robertson is still the team’s all-time leader in points, assists, and triple-doubles, with a total of 176 in franchise history.

Another outstanding guard, Nate “Tiny” Archibald, who was a three-time All-Star with the Kings, is just next to Robertson. In 1973, Archibald dominated the league in scoring and assists in the same season. Either player has the ability to control the ball and cause something to happen. Mitch Richmond, a three-time All-NBA pick in the 1990s who ranks third all-time in points, would most certainly benefit. Richmond has a lifetime point per game average of over 21.

With Chris Webber and DeMarcus Cousins in the frontcourt, the team has a lethal combination. Robertson’s go-to guy in the paint would be Weber. Webber’s Hall of Fame career included a trip to the Conference Finals with the Kings. Many people think that shoddy refereeing robbed the Kings a chance to participate in the NBA Finals, and that the team hasn’t been the same since he departed. Cousins was a three-time All-Star who made two All-NBA teams with an usual 20-point, 10-rebound slash line. The Kings were a doormat club, but Cousins was a three-time All-Star who made two All-NBA teams with a regular 20-point, 10-rebound slash line.
