The three U.S. Senators were diagnosed with the same rare cancer on the same day, and now they’re all fighting for a cure

The how long to quarantine after positive covid test is a virus that was confirmed in U.S. Senators Wicker, King and Hickenlooper on the same day.

COVID-19 instances in the United States had dropped dramatically earlier this year. Medical advancements and public awareness of optimal practices have a major effect. The introduction of the Delta variation, on the other hand, has led things to move in the other way. Especially considering the persistent unwillingness of far too many people to take the necessary precautions.

COVID-19 cases have also started to resurface among members of the US Congress. On August 19, 2021, this might have been of special interest. Three members of the United States Senate have each declared that they have tested positive, according to CNN and MSN.

Mississippi’s Roger Wicker was the first.

Senator Roger Wicker of Mississippi, a Republican, revealed his diagnosis on the morning of the 19th. He’d reportedly been sick and sought out a Coronavirus test as soon as possible.

Wicker presently serves on the Senate Commerce Committee as the ranking member. He stepped down as chairman of the same committee earlier this year. Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour first appointed him to the Senate in 2007. Trent Lott, Wicker’s Senate predecessor, decided to leave Congress early. Lott was the Senate minority whip at the time, having previously served as majority leader twice. Wicker was elected in 2008, 2012, and 2018 as an independent candidate.

Wicker formerly served in the United States House of Representatives. In 1994, he was elected to the 1st Congressional District of Mississippi, replacing retiring Democrat Jamie Whitten. He’d previously served as a state senator. Wicker formerly worked as a page for Whitten in the United States House of Representatives and as a counsel for Lott on the House Rules Committee.

Roger Wicker served in the United States Air Force in addition to his political career.

He was a lieutenant colonel when he retired.

Angus King of Maine followed suit.

Angus King, an Independent from Maine, was the second senator to disclose that they had been diagnosed with COVID-19. After being ill the night before, he was tested for the new coronavirus.

King had formerly been a member of the Democratic Party.

He worked as a staffer for Senator William Hathaway and served as the lead counsel to a Senate subcommittee.

King was elected governor of Maine in a three-way contest in 1994 after quitting the Democratic Party. Joseph E. Brennan, a former Democratic governor and U.S. Representative, and Susan Collins, a prospective Republican U.S. Senator, are the frontrunners. Having the distinction of being one of the few Independents in American politics to hold a high position.

King was re-elected governor in 1998. After Republican Olympia Snowe announced her retirement, he was elected to the Senate in 2012. In 2018, he was re-elected.

Finally, there was Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper.

Colorado Democrat John Hickenlooper joined the list on November 19th in the afternoon.

He, too, had started to feel sick and had taken a test, which came back positive.

Hickenlooper is descended from a famous family that includes Republican Senator and Governor of Iowa Bourke B. Hickenlooper. Last year, the younger Hickenlooper defeated Republican incumbent Cory Gardner in the Senate election.

He was elected governor of Colorado in 2010. In 2014, he would be re-elected. He was elected mayor of Denver for the first time in 2003. He became known as one of the finest mayors in the nation for promoting nonpartisan initiatives. In 2007, he was re-elected with almost 90% of the vote, making him the most powerful politician in the country.
